The first-ever seminar organized by Taiwan on capacity building for women took place Sept. 16 during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Women and the Economy 2015 Fora in the Philippines.
Themed Empowering Women through Information Communications Technology for Inclusive Growth, the one-day event underscores Taiwan’s commitment to helping promote gender-balanced economic development throughout Asia-Pacific.
行政院政務委員馮燕於9月15日啟程，率行政院性別平等會委員林春鳳、顧燕翎、行政院性別平等處及相關公、私部門等16名代表及專家學者3名赴菲律賓馬尼拉，出席2015年APEC婦女與經濟論壇（Women and Economic Forum, WEF），並將與菲律賓貿易工業部於16日共同主辦「以ICT培力女性達到包容性成長（Seminar of Empowering Women through ICT for Inclusive Growth）研討會」，此為WEF史上首次由我國提議且獲准主辦的研討會，是中華民國政府參與國際重量級會議，協力促進女性經濟賦權的重大突破。
